Last year was a good year for tablet computers, This year 2011 could very well see this market see quite a bit of growth. Upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas should see a lot of new entries into this market, both in the Windows 7 and Android variety.
Toshiba also in the table computer race, according to rumor it is expected to available in April 2011. Their new tablet doesn’t have an official name or release date just yet, but it is a 10-inch Android tablet that is expected to give the Apple iPad some competition. The Toshiba tablet runs on the Android OS and comes with NVIDIA Tegra 2. It has a total weight of 1.7 pounds which is only a little heavier then the 1.5lb WiFi iPad and the 1.6lb 3G iPad.

According to the report one of the improvements that the Toshiba tablet will have over the iPad is in the screen display. The Toshiba device includes a 10.1-inch multitouch display and capable to run HD movie with 720p HD resolution. So far, we haven’t had a chance to see the Toshiba tablet running and this may be because the tablet will run on the upcoming Honeycomb OS which is the next Google Android OS version that has been optimized for tablets.

Some of the other features we can expect Toshiba to throw into their new device including removable battery, a 5MP camera, a rubberized back and a dock connector. Still, with everything that we know about this device, there is much that needs to be learnt. The device does arguably have better features then the iPad, but the more accurate comparison will be, how does this device stack up against the Apple iPad 2.
