Nokia N8 Review

HARDWARE

Nokia N8 design is really awesome. Nokia N8’s aluminum body makes it really conformable to hold the mobile. The N8 features a 3.5-inch AMOLED display the display is protected by a highly scratch resistant Gorilla glass. You can put the Nokia N8 in a pocket without any issues.  640 x 360 pixel capacitive touch screen response was superb. Display also support multi-touch, It help you can pinch to zoom in images, web pages and even in messages now.

You can find the 3.5 mm audio socket & HDMI port on top of the phone, while a rather large Carl Zeiss 12-megapixel camera & Xenon flash occupies the rear. On the right side of the device we have the camera button and volume rocker buttons as well as a locking slider. On the left side of the device you can find the slots for a microSD card support up to 32GB and the SIM card. Bottom you can find the charging hole.

N8’s use of a 680MHz processor looks dull in dual core processing war. Even using less standard processing mobile performs really well with multitasking, playing video and playing games. Symbian optimized for this processor so you won’t feel much performance difference compared to other 1GHZ mobile.  The mobile has 16GB of in built storage space and expendable up to 32GB.

SOFTWARE

The Nokia N8 comes with Symbian Anna operating system from July 2011. Symbian anna with lot of feature enhancement like browser, landscape QWERTY keyboard, new enhanced screen and icons etc. All social networking applications like Facebook, twitter preloaded with OS. Advantage of Nokia is free OVI Map and GPS navigation, It is offline navigation ability.  the N8 comes with Quick Office and the Adobe PDF viewer and other use full applications. It is not only streams HD quality video on a projector/HDTV but does it with full surround Dolby Digital Plus support.

CAMERA

The N8’s 12-megapixel camera is really incredible. The 720p HD video recording is equally impressive. It is not required to carry your point of shoot camera when you are travelling. the N8 sports the largest optical format image sensor. the N8’s camera captures 720p HD video, which looks great on both the mobile and when played back on an HDTV.

BATTERY LIFE

Battery life on the Nokia N8 is surprisingly great. The Nokia N8 has a 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery and which not user replaceable. Talk time up to 12hours in 2G and 5 hours and 50 min in 3G as per phone specifications.
